RVWL Membership is a Four-Step Process

1. Contact a Sponsoring Active or Associate Member
2. Attend a Prospective Member Event
3. Complete the Application for Membership
4. Attend an RVWL Open House at the Adopt A Family of Marin Offices

Contact a Sponsoring Active or Associate Member

Each Prospective New Member should reach out to an Active or Associate Member to be introduced to the group. That Active or Associate Member will act as the Sponsoring Member throughout the New Membership process and continue to guide the New Member during the first year of RVWL Membership. The Sponsoring Member will arrange with Membership to invite the Prospective Member to attend a Prospective Member Event.

Complete and Submit the Application for Membership

Complete the
RVWL Application, or submit an email application to Membership, on or before November 30, 2019 to be considered for 2020 Membership. Late submissions will be considered on a first come basis. The application will ask you to provide your personal information, a bio highlighting your non-profit and fundraising qualifications and a statement as to why you are interested in RVWL's support for Adopt A Family of Marin.

Attend an RVWL Open House at the Adopt A Family of Marin Offices

Each Prospective Member must attend a RVWL sponsored Open House at the Adopt A Family of Marin offices, 35 Mitchell Blvd., Suite 16, San Rafael, 94903. It is the perfect opportunity to meet the Executive Director of Adopt A Family of Marin and her staff as well as other New Prospects, Actives and Associates. The Executive Director introduces her staff and gives a detailed overview of the work done by Adopt A Family of Marin in the community.  Questions are encouraged.

RVWL will host two Open Houses at Adopt A Family for prospective members.  Upon special request, individual meetings may be accommodated.

Once the above steps are completed, Membership submits the panel of New Members to the Executive Board and returning Actives for approval.  With a majority vote, the panel is accepted as a whole and New Prospects are invited to attend the first General Meeting, typically scheduled for January.  The roster for the new year, including New Prospects is approved by all actives at the first meeting.

Once the roster is approved by the Active Members at the first General Meeting, membership is closed for the year.

Wait List
Once Membership is closed for the year, Actives may introduce New Prospects who want to be considered for the following year.  Upon completion of Steps 1-3 above, these New Prospects may request to be placed on the Wait List.  New Prospects on the Wait List may be invited to participate in volunteer activities at fund-raising events but may not hold a Committee Chair position.  Upon completion of Step 4 above, New Prospects on the Wait List will be placed at the top of the Panel to be presented to the Board and returning Actives for approval.

RVWL seeks Membership between 30 and 35 Actives.  Any New Prospects who cannot be offered status as an Active Member because we have exceeded our Membership quota will be placed at the top of the Wait List for the following year.
